OK, I have a favor to ask anyone who makes comics. I am going to be teaching digital comic illustration this fall , and I'd like to collect some comic scripting examples to show my students. I of course have my own, but I would like them to see a variety of ways to approach script writing and not just one. So if any of you wouldn't mind sharing a page or two of one of your older scripts I would be super grateful! I don't care what format it's in, word doc, pdf, scan, just as long as the students can get something from it, and I can open it, lol.

The second thing I need help with is that towards the end of class I want the students to be posting their work online with one of the free comic hosting sites, however I have no experience with these sites as I've always hosted my own work. I basically would like to know which of the free sites people prefer for comic hosting, which is easiest to deal with, and which one would be most suitable for incorporating into the school environment. By that I mean which sites are the cleanest and won't get me in trouble with parents if they see their kids tooling around on there and find inappropriate/adult content. Because my class is not actually in the k-12 system I have a little more freedom, but I still need to be careful.

I'd love to help you out! Once I get back to school next week I will send you some of scripts, it's a big process for me but it is fairly simple. I will send it from my comics email--taco.totes.comics@gmail.com

that sounds like an awesome experience, I'll be working on comic stuff with my kids too when I start teaching

Also, since I got carried away, Smackjeeves is in my opinion one of the best webcomic hosters out there. It's free and simple and easy to deal with (uploading comics, news, custom pages etc) Hope that helps!

Oh thats awesome that you're teaching a class. I wish there was a class close to me that'd do something like what you're doing. I always have trouble with the whole script format thing x3

I can't really help you with the scripting (i usually go out of the top of my head

) but i can suggest some really good free web hosting sites. ~QuestionofBalance is on the right track there with Smackjeeves. It's clean, easy to use, and has mature content filters.

Drunkduck is pretty decent as well, but it doesn't give you as much freedom/easy to use as Smackjeeves. Hope I've helped

So are you an Art Ed major too? This is my last year of school. I have to do my student teaching in the spring, scary!

Lol, it shouldn't be too bad though since I am getting all this experience teaching Saturday School.
