Springy spring spring green and a faery boy listening to the forest. This took me forever bleedin' ever to finish because I have only been able to work on it a little bit each day due to my other obligations. In the beginning I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out because of the different combos of techniques, and I got real "argh-ey" with it, but now in the end I think it is one of my better works. I did this in both Photoshop and Painter. Well I hope you like it, I'm going to try to make a print of this (blasted file had best have uploaded!! D: )
It is a mystery to me why an excellent piece like this has garnered so little attention! The detail to the vegetation is wonderful - the ferns! The leaves! The mushroom! Your use of greens is really soft and pleasant to the eye, and sets up the focus nicely for the lit area. I really like how bright the picture seems.
The faery boy's bemused expression is rather cute, and his wings are lovely. The simplicity of the dragonflies look great too.
Thank you for your comments. I was a ittle worried about the greens, I was hoping they would come out looking varied enough, and that the combination of the more reaistic and the more cartoony would blend well. I guess I was successful!
And about good works not getting attention....geh, I've been realizing this more and more sadly. It's seems like DA lends itself more to popularity. Granted some of them are really good at what they do, but I get tired of seeing the same artists works/styles showing up in the daily faves. It seems to happen everywhere though. There needs to be and obscure artists guild/club or something!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
